There are 10,080 minutes in a week. Interesting fact, isn’t it.
We all have the same amount of time. Our available bucket of time is identical person to person. Sure, we all have to eat, sleep, work and commute, but what do we do with the time we have left.
So why do so many people complain, “I just don’t have any time!”
Let’s break things down. Assuming we go to church on Sunday, let’s use 80 minutes. That still leaves 10,000. If we sleep 8 hours a night that, that’s 480 minutes or 3,360 minutes a week. It still leaves 6,640 minutes.
Subtract another 3,360 minutes for a 40-hour work week and another 6 hours commuting. We now have 3,274 minutes left.
So, let’s pray 20 minutes a day, that’s 140 minutes.
We can work out at the gym. Let’s go three times a week for 60 minutes is 180 minutes. That still leaves us 2,954 minutes.
Just under 3,000 minutes to use however you want. It all comes down to time management. So many of us in 2026 spend hours thumb scrolling social media, eating up these valuable minutes.
Let’s practice some time management. Let’s make a list of three to five things that we really want to do.
How about:
* learn a new language.
*Learn to play the piano.
* read a good book.
* do a Bible study.
* volunteer at a homeless shelter or food bank.
* Coach your kids soccer team.
There is no lack of constructive things we can do with those almost 3,000 minutes a week.
I suggest we put down the smart phone and stop scrolling. That doesn’t mean we have to give up social media, just have to allocate less time to it. Let’s use our time for more productive things.
I’ve picked out a few things I want to do. How about you? Take a few minutes to choose a few yourself. Let’s stop saying, “I’m too busy!”
We can do this my friend.
